Hi, I’m Jess.

As a therapist, my aim is to provide a warm and safe place where you have an opportunity to tell your story. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and find it a privilege to be invited to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the ups and downs of life. I have been providing therapy for around 13 years, initially as a social worker in the public mental health service providing therapeutic support to children and young people experiencing complex mental health problems.

This work sparked my interest in systemic practice and in 2018 I graduated with a Master of Mental Health (Family Therapy) specialising in systemic practice. This means I am really interested in how people are shaped by the relationships and experiences that surround them. Rather than seeing difficulties as belonging to one person, I work collaboratively to understand the patterns, roles and interactions within families and other important relationships. Together, we think about how these patterns have developed over time, and explore different ways of being that foster healthy and connected relationships, and support your sense of yourself.

I have a special interest in working with the impacts of trauma and attachment difficulties, and I have undertaken additional training to work effectively with relational trauma. I integrate systemic family therapy principles with current knowledge of the neurobiology of trauma to provide a safe and healing space for you. This relational attachment framework also supports me in working with families during the perinatal period, which is another area of special interest for me.

I also offer supervision to social workers and other helping professionals. Whether you are seeking support to guard against burnout, compassion fatigue or vicarious trauma, or looking to develop your therapeutic practice framework, I am an experienced supervisor drawing on my therapeutic experience to provide a safe space for critical reflection.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, exploring new cities and countries, baking and relaxing with my dogs.

If you’d like to see if we’re a good fit, I offer a free 10-minute phone call to discuss your support needs before you book an appointment.

Please note, I do not provide Court reports or take Court ordered referrals for family therapy.
